Microsoft Azure Training 27 – Azure Websites – Part 4 – Azure Website settings (Exam 70-533)

This is the Part 4 of Azure Websites/Azure Web Apps session. In this session I discuss the various Azure Website settings that are available to be configured. Particular attention is given to to how database connection strings and application settings are configured. A brief demo is provided on the location of the settings in the Azure Preview Portal. The session ens with an overview of how all the concepts addressed in this session are done through Windows PowerShell.

Microsoft Azure Training 26 – Azure Websites – Part 3 – Azure Webjobs (Exam 70-533)

This is the Part 3 of Azure Websites/Azure Web Apps session. In this session I discuss how a task can be run in the back-end on VM where the Azure Website is created and hosted. With a demo in this session I go through discussing how scripts can be zipped to create a webjob file and uploaded in Management Portal to later run it as a scheduled task. I also go through the relevant PowerShell cmdlets to perform the Webjobs related tasks.

Microsoft Azure Training – 25 Azure Websites – Part 2 – Deploying Azure Websites (Exam 70-533)

This is the Part 2 of Azure Websites/Azure Web Apps session. In this session I discuss what deployment actually means and recap on how to create and deploy an Azure website from Visual Studio. Further discussion is provided on Azure Website slots and why they are needed and how they are created. Full demo is provided on all the concepts discussed. Finally in this session I demo the PowerShell equivalent of all the tasks that were performed in this session including creating web deployment packages and deploying them to Azure slots.

Microsoft Azure Training 24 – Azure Websites – Part 1 – Azure Websites Introduction (Exam 70-533)

This is the Part 1 of Azure Websites/Azure Web Apps session. In this session I provide an introduction to Azure PaaS in general and get into specifics of what Azure Websites are. Also in this session I provide an introduction on what Azure Resource Groups are and how they are created and then move onto creating an Azure Website. After the Azure Website is created, I show website publishing with Visual Studio 2013 and also provide a quick demo on how webpages can be uploaded with a FTP client.

Microsoft Azure Training 23 – Azure Virtual Machines – Part 10 – Azure VM Monitoring (Exam 70-533)

This is the Part 10 and final session of the Azure Virtual Machines topic. In this session I talk about the basic built-in monitoring capabilities of Azure. There is demonstration on the various metrics of Azure and how alerts can be set on these metrics so one can be notified if any metric goes over a predefined threshold. There is further discussion on the Endpoint monitoring preview feature where the status of a web site can be monitored by Azure. Finally I discuss about Azure Diagnostics extension which has higher capability of monitoring Azure VMs and storing the data in a predefined Storage Account.

Microsoft Azure Training 22 – Azure Virtual Machines – Part 9 – Azure VM Storage (Exam 70-533)

This is the Part 9 of the Azure Virtual Machines session. In this session I talk about some storage related concepts that are directly related to Azure Virtual Machines. I discuss host caching concepts of Azure VMs and how they can be set. Next I provide a bonus tutorial on how Azure Data Disk IOPS can be tested for performance and how the IOPS can be increased in production environment by creating Storage Pool feature of Server 2012/R2/2016 where multiple data disks are used to increase the capacity and performance. Finally, I provide a demo of the Azure Files that can be used to create a file share that is accessible from any VM.
